For one to have a copyright, the work must be:
- Work of authorship
- Fixed in a tangible medium of expression
- Capable of reproduction and human readable
Copyrights must be registered to file a lawsuit, and there are perks to having registered the copyright beforehand.
Copyrights last for the author's life plus 70 years.
