Contracts Relating to Wills
People can make contracts where they promise to make a will or to not revoke a will. Typically these are subject to the statute of frauds, requiring that it be a written contract.
Will contracts are most common in the case of joint and mutual wills, where a married couple promises to follow the same estate plan and sign one will together which cannot be changed after the first spouse dies. These are rare however and trusts are a better solution.
