Calculus of Negligence

Negligence is a function of three variables:

1. The probability of an incident occurring
2. The gravity of the resulting injury
3. The burden of adequate precautions

i.e. It's negligence if Chance × Gravity > Burden.

This isn't commonly used explicitly however.
